Our school has approximately 100 students enrolled from Prep to Transition (final year). Currently there are approximately 35 students in the Transition Year, across three classrooms.
Students in the Transition Year enjoy an assortment of activities each week, including wheelchair dance classes, shopping, cooking, work experience, visiting the local gym for fitness classes, running the school coffee shop and venturing to the local shopping arcade for morning tea.
Students in the Transition Year follow the Australian Curriculum, using Education Queensland's C2C as a guide for implementing course content. The curriculum content ranges within the classes predominantly from Foundation Year to Year 5.
Each of the three Transition classes has one teacher and one teacher aide to support your child's learning. Other resources classes have include: I-pads, desktop computers, interactive white board (IWB) and magnifying camera linked to a desktop computer.
Students who attend our school have a variety of abilities, and include students with visual impairment, intellectual disabilities, hearing impairment, physical impairment, Rett Syndrome and autistic spectrum disorder.
